Your partner in monitoring your dog's Cushing's, and everything that comes with it.

Know how your dog is really doing.

A monitoring and record-keeping tool. It does not diagnose, and it never replaces your vet.

Everything that comes with Canine Cushing's, kept together.

Thirst, appetite, medication, physical changes, test results, vet records and related conditions. Keep track of what is happening today, what has changed over time, and the information you may need at your next vet appointment.

A daily check-in that takes a minute

Answered with a tap, and over in about a minute. The app adapts to your dog's treatment phase, so you are only ever asked what matters today.

The journal screen: seven of seven days logged, with today's symptoms and the owner's note

It warns you when something may need attention

When a day's answers match a pattern that may warrant veterinary attention, Smart Animal lets you know and points you towards your vet, with both their numbers one tap away.

The alerts screen: an amber advisory reading vet advice recommended, above one-tap vet contacts

Walk into the consult prepared

One tap builds a clean PDF of the last month: profile, medications, symptom summary and weekly scores. Give your vet a clear picture of what's been happening between appointments.

The vet report screen: a report period selector and the list of what the report includes

Every document in one place

Diagnosis paperwork, lab PDFs, discharge notes and vet letters, filed against your dog's record instead of a kitchen drawer.

The documents screen: three files grouped under Cushing's diagnosis, blood test and vet notes

A calm routine, not another job.

Cushing's Syndrome, in most cases, is a lifelong, complex and sometimes unpredictable condition. The app was built for that: quick to log on the good days, thorough when it's needed.

Log the day

A one-minute check-in each evening. Miss a day? Just backdate it. No need to start again.

Keep the paperwork together

Add blood and test results, discharge notes and vet letters as you get them, instead of leaving them buried in emails or piling up in a drawer.

Take it to your vet

Generate a report before an appointment, with your dog's recent symptoms, medication and recorded changes together in one place.

Your dog's records can help the next dog.

Real, day-to-day, long-term data is limited in Cushing's research. By sharing your dog's journey, including symptoms, test results and treatments over time, you could directly help researchers map how this disease progresses and improve future care.

Your privacy comes first. All contributed data is anonymised. Participation is optional, and you can withdraw your consent at any time.

This is Sara, the reason this app exists.

The dog this was built for.

This entire project exists because of one dog's battle with Cushing's and all the disease brought with it.

Sara was diagnosed with Cushing's disease on 14 January 2025. Despite treatment and constant monitoring, she dealt with neurological events, pancreatitis, severe liver complications, gallbladder mucocele and hypertension.

She died in February 2026, following complications after an adrenalectomy to remove the adrenal tumour causing her Cushing's.

The year in between showed her human how fragmented Cushing's knowledge is, for owners and busy vets alike, and how much of a dog's real story never makes it into the consulting room.

Lavinia started saravscushings.com while Sara was ill, to put what she had learned somewhere other families could find it. Smart Animal is the other half of that: the record she kept by hand, built properly, so the next family can have everything in one place.
